Responding to stimulant overuse and overdose

Description

What are Stimulants? Stimulants, or "uppers," are drugs that speed the body up. These drugs include amphetmaines, cocaine, Adderall and caffeine.

Signs of stimulant use: Rigidity or jerking of the limbs, fast or irregular pulse, chest pain, skin hot to touch, sweating, severe headaches, anxiety, paranoia, confusion, agitation, hallucinations.

Signs of stimulant overdose: crushing chest pain, seizures, unconsciousness.

Get Help! If someone is experiencing any of these signs, call 911. Stay and help — You may be protected by Canada's Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act. When in doubt, use naloxone — it may not help, but it won't hurt!
